I had a great experience working with Paul’s Nursery from start to finish. They helped me select several fruit trees and handled the installation, and the entire process was smooth and professional. The team was knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and clearly cared about doing the job right. The trees were healthy, well-planted, and everything was done with attention to detail. I highly recommend Paul’s Nursery to anyone looking for quality fruit trees and reliable installation.

It saddens me to come to this page and see only 4 stars for this stellar business. It almost makes me wonder if the reviewers left their review on the wrong page. I experienced exactly zero of the negative experiences described in some of these reviews. I responded to their ad on facebook and was pleasantly surprised every step of the way! Communication was prompt, professional, respectful, courteous, and most certainly not aggressive. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating, going out on a limb (See what I did there?) to ensure my satisfaction. I purchased a Persian Lime tree from them. They delivered AND planted it at no additional charge – and I live over FIFTY MILES from their site! Upon delivery, the tree was already laden with fruit! This was a birthday gift for my sister. Growing up in Northern Michigan, she would have never dreamed that one day she would have a lime tree in her backyard. THANK you, Shelsea, Paul & staff for taking my sister’s Florida Dreams to the next level. We will definitely see you again!!!

For Christmas 2020 I bought my wife 5 citrus trees from Paul's Nursery. He picked out some very good trees, whenever I had a question he would walk me through it. Normally the first year you get very few pieces of fruit. Because of the quality of Paul's trees and his help after sale this is the first years crop.Pictures of our trees as of Christmas 2021.

This Nursery does not look beautiful from the road however, they have a huge selection and they are willing to get whatever you need from one of their other nurseries throughout the state. At this particular location they carry a lot of cold-hardy plants and many varieties of fruit and citrus. The prices are far below what you would find at other locations in the area. The owners entire family is in the nursery business throughout the state. He was raised doing this he has a large knowledge of plants for this area. I am told they also do pavers, landscaping, and irrigation.

Mount Dora, FL’s Top Nursery

Perched on rolling terrain above its namesake lake, Mount Dora enjoys a slightly different growing environment than flatter parts of Lake County. Elevation combined with lakeside influence creates microclimates that benefit certain fruit tree varieties noticeably. Paul’s Nursery has worked across these conditions for many decades. Properties near Lake Dora often experience moderated winter temperatures compared to inland yards just a few miles away. That kind of local nuance shapes how we recommend trees for specific Mount Dora addresses. Walking your property reveals details that generic advice would miss entirely. Each consultation factors elevation, exposure, and proximity to water into the conversation. Customers consistently appreciate guidance built around their actual lot.

Established neighborhoods throughout downtown Mount Dora bring their own considerations to fruit tree planting. Mature oaks and existing landscapes affect sun exposure and root competition significantly. Newer subdivisions on the outskirts present cleaner slates with open lots and full sun. Both situations call for thoughtful variety selection rather than one-size-fits-all recommendations. Our team has helped homeowners across both scenarios for generations now. Historic charm matters to many residents who want trees that complement classic Florida aesthetics. Form and beauty get equal weight alongside productivity during our discussions. Taking time to balance these factors leads to orchards that genuinely belong on each property.

Citrus remains the most natural starting point for fruit orchards across Mount Dora. Orange Trees, Lemon Trees, and Tangerine Trees lead our most popular requests in this community. Larger lots can support Grapefruit Trees and Tangelo Trees with their wider canopy needs. Smaller courtyard gardens often suit compact Kumquat Trees perfectly. Many residents want backyard groves that honor Florida’s deep citrus heritage. Heritage cultivars sit alongside modern disease-resistant options on our nursery lot. Every citrus tree gets a thorough health inspection before leaving for a customer’s property. Reliable harvests within reasonable establishment windows are what Mount Dora buyers expect from our trees.

Tropical fruit trees open up genuinely exciting possibilities for Mount Dora yards with the right placement. Mango Trees deliver heavy summer harvests once established across a couple of seasons. Avocado Trees produce rich, creamy fruit that easily surpasses anything sold at grocery stores. Quick-growing Banana Trees bring dramatic foliage and harvests within remarkably short timeframes. Less common selections like Guava Trees, Star Fruit Trees, and Passion Fruit Trees produce conversation-worthy fruit for families and guests. Slightly cooler nights at Mount Dora’s elevation can affect cold-sensitive tropical species. South-facing walls and sheltered yard corners help marginal varieties through occasional winter dips. Each placement decision receives careful attention during our consultations.

Stone fruit production throughout Mount Dora hinges entirely on choosing the right low-chill cultivars. Peach Trees bred for Florida’s mild winters produce sweet, juicy fruit on local properties year after year. Plum Trees and Nectarine Trees with comparable low-chill genetics also flourish under these conditions. Subtropical Cherry Trees round out our stone fruit category nicely. Apple Trees and Pear Trees with warm-climate breeding genuinely surprise customers who recently moved from northern states. Chill hour requirements get explained in plain, accessible language during every visit. Selling trees that can’t fruit here would contradict everything our family stands for. That honest selection process has carried our business across more than a century.

Berry bushes deliver some of the quickest harvests available to Mount Dora home gardeners. Blueberry Bushes settle into local acidic soils smoothly and begin producing within a season or two. Vigorous Blackberry Bushes yield massive harvests with surprisingly manageable ongoing care. Raised beds, container setups, and traditional landscape rows all work well for either option. Florida-developed cultivars handle our summer heat and humidity without faltering at all. Active families and kids find berry picking genuinely fun right in their own backyards. Pruning windows, fertilizer guidance, and seasonal expectations come standard with every bush sold. Healthy bushes keep producing reliably for many years when basic routines are followed.

Beyond standard variety choices, specialty trees give Mount Dora orchards genuine personality. Fig Trees produce two seasonal crops annually under Central Florida growing conditions. Pomegranate Trees flower spectacularly in late spring before delivering their famous ruby fruit. Mediterranean Olive Trees suit Mount Dora’s elevated, well-drained properties beautifully along with adding silvery foliage. Mulberry Trees grow rapidly and produce sweet dark berries within just a few seasons of planting. Loquat Trees offer winter harvests when most other trees rest dormant. Compact Kumquat Trees fit beautifully into containers or smaller planting spots common across historic neighborhoods. Combining these specialty options spreads orchard harvests across more of the calendar year.

Service throughout Mount Dora remains personal and straightforward from the first call onward. Trees arrive at your property in excellent condition, ready for immediate installation. Proper hole preparation, root inspection, and thorough first watering are included with every planting. Specific care notes tailored to your tree and property accompany each install. Free estimates remove budget uncertainty from project planning before any commitment. Many Mount Dora families build their orchards gradually across multiple seasons. Follow-up questions are welcome long after the original sale closes. Family-owned operation means real relationships with the people serving your property.
