I had a great experience working with Paul’s Nursery from start to finish. They helped me select several fruit trees and handled the installation, and the entire process was smooth and professional. The team was knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and clearly cared about doing the job right. The trees were healthy, well-planted, and everything was done with attention to detail. I highly recommend Paul’s Nursery to anyone looking for quality fruit trees and reliable installation.

It saddens me to come to this page and see only 4 stars for this stellar business. It almost makes me wonder if the reviewers left their review on the wrong page. I experienced exactly zero of the negative experiences described in some of these reviews. I responded to their ad on facebook and was pleasantly surprised every step of the way! Communication was prompt, professional, respectful, courteous, and most certainly not aggressive. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating, going out on a limb (See what I did there?) to ensure my satisfaction. I purchased a Persian Lime tree from them. They delivered AND planted it at no additional charge – and I live over FIFTY MILES from their site! Upon delivery, the tree was already laden with fruit! This was a birthday gift for my sister. Growing up in Northern Michigan, she would have never dreamed that one day she would have a lime tree in her backyard. THANK you, Shelsea, Paul & staff for taking my sister’s Florida Dreams to the next level. We will definitely see you again!!!

For Christmas 2020 I bought my wife 5 citrus trees from Paul's Nursery. He picked out some very good trees, whenever I had a question he would walk me through it. Normally the first year you get very few pieces of fruit. Because of the quality of Paul's trees and his help after sale this is the first years crop.Pictures of our trees as of Christmas 2021.

This Nursery does not look beautiful from the road however, they have a huge selection and they are willing to get whatever you need from one of their other nurseries throughout the state. At this particular location they carry a lot of cold-hardy plants and many varieties of fruit and citrus. The prices are far below what you would find at other locations in the area. The owners entire family is in the nursery business throughout the state. He was raised doing this he has a large knowledge of plants for this area. I am told they also do pavers, landscaping, and irrigation.

Why Buy Blueberry Bushes

Blueberries give Central Florida homeowners one of the most rewarding berry crops a backyard can hold. A healthy bush produces fruit for many years, which turns the upfront cost into a long return. Fresh blueberries off your own bush taste sweeter and brighter than anything trucked into a store. The bushes stay compact, so they fit yards of almost any size. Kids love picking the berries straight off the branch by the handful. The plants also bring soft spring blooms and rich fall color to a landscape. A few bushes can supply a family with berries through the harvest season. Blueberries are one of the easiest fruits to grow once they settle into the right spot.

Variety selection matters more than most first-time growers expect. Southern highbush blueberries are the right type for Central Florida, since they are bred for the region’s mild winters. These low-chill varieties fruit reliably where northern types would simply fail. Paul’s Nursery carries selections proven across Clermont, Groveland, and the surrounding service area. Emerald, Jewel, and Sweetcrisp are popular southern highbush choices with excellent flavor. Planting two different varieties often improves both the size of the berries and the size of the crop. Mixing early and later types also stretches the harvest across more weeks. The team helps match the right varieties to your taste and your yard during the buying conversation.

Delivery removes the most stressful part of buying blueberry bushes. Loading plants into a regular car and getting them home safely is harder than it sounds. The Paul’s Nursery crew handles transport with the right equipment and a careful touch. Plants arrive in the same condition they left the property, which protects your investment from day one. Planting comes included with your order, so it is part of the deal rather than an add-on. The crew sets each bush into properly prepared soil and handles the labor for you. Free estimates lay out the full cost before any work begins. Customers know the price up front, with no surprises waiting at the end.

One of the best perks of growing in Florida is the ability to plant almost any time of year. There is no narrow seasonal window you have to wait for here. Because Paul’s Nursery grows its plants in pots, each bush develops a strong root system before it leaves the property. That established root ball is what lets you plant with confidence across the seasons. The crew simply adjusts the watering guidance to match the time of year. Cooler months ask for less water, while the warm season calls for a bit more. This flexibility makes scheduling delivery around your own calendar much easier. You plant when it suits you, not when a calendar tells you to.

Spacing is more forgiving than many homeowners assume. Blueberry bushes stay compact, so they do not demand a large footprint. A gap of a few feet between bushes gives each one room to fill out. That spacing also lets air move freely around the plants. You can line several bushes along a bed to create a tidy, productive row. Smaller yards, patios, and raised beds all work well with blueberries. The plants even thrive in large containers for the tightest spaces. The crew can map the right layout with you during the estimate visit.

Healthy plants are the foundation of everything Paul’s Nursery sells. Every blueberry bush is grown and tended on the property before it ever reaches your yard. The plants get watched closely so any concern surfaces early. A bush that raises a flag gets pulled from sale rather than passed to a customer. The team would sooner lose a sale than send out a plant that will struggle in your yard. That standard reflects the family-owned approach the nursery has held from the start. Customer trust grows from consistent quality, not lucky shipments. Decades of repeat business confirm the approach works.

Care after planting stays simpler than many homeowners expect. Blueberries have shallow, fibrous roots that sit just below the surface. They need consistent water through the first few weeks to settle in. After that, a couple of deep waterings a week works well outside the rainy season. The roots like steady moisture but never want to sit in soggy ground. Blueberries prefer acidic soil, so an acid-forming fertilizer keeps them fed and happy. Light pruning after the harvest keeps each bush open and productive. Buying from Paul’s Nursery means buying from the people who actually grow the plants they sell.

Commonly Asked Blueberry Bushes Planting Questions

Paul’s Nursery keeps buying blueberry bushes simple with healthy stock, honest variety advice, and delivery across Central Florida. The questions below cover what customers most often want to know before placing an order.

Southern highbush blueberries are the best fit for Central Florida yards. These varieties are bred for mild winters and need very few chill hours to fruit. Northern highbush and many rabbiteye types want more cold than this region provides. Paul’s Nursery focuses on southern highbush selections proven across the service area. Emerald is a favorite for its large, sweet berries and heavy production. Jewel ripens early and brings a bright, tangy-sweet flavor. Sweetcrisp lives up to its name with a firm, crisp bite. Each variety carries its own peak window across the spring harvest.

Planting more than one variety is a smart move for a stronger crop. Southern highbush blueberries set more fruit and larger berries when two varieties grow near each other. The mix also stretches the harvest, since early and later types ripen at different points. Customers across Clermont, Groveland, and the wider area grow these varieties successfully every year. The plants come back season after season with only basic care. A sunny spot and acidic soil are the main things these bushes ask for. Consistent water in the first few weeks gets a new planting settled in fast. The team helps you pair varieties that suit your taste and your harvest goals.

Choosing among the varieties often comes down to flavor and timing. Some berries lean sweet, while others carry a brighter, tangier note. Firmness varies too, from soft and juicy to crisp and snappy. Berry size differs by variety, and a few types produce noticeably larger fruit. Planting an early type alongside a later one keeps fresh berries coming for weeks. Photos on the online stock page show the current blueberry selection. A quick call or text helps you narrow down the best fit for your yard. That conversation happens before any plant leaves the property.

Blueberry bushes reward growers fairly quickly compared to many fruit trees. The established bushes from Paul’s Nursery often give a light crop in the first or second season. Production then builds steadily as each plant matures and fills out. A young bush focuses its early energy on roots and strong branches. By the third year, most bushes hit a fuller, more generous stride. Mature blueberry plants can produce pounds of fruit in a single season. The size of the plant at purchase shapes how much fruit you see early on. The team sets clear, realistic expectations during the buying conversation.

A few simple habits speed a young bush toward full production. Full sun is the single biggest factor in heavy fruit set. Acidic soil keeps the plant healthy and able to take up nutrients. Consistent water through the first few weeks gets the shallow roots established. After that, a couple of deep waterings a week works well outside the rainy season. An acid-forming fertilizer on a steady schedule keeps growth moving. Light pruning in the early years builds a strong, open frame. Following the care guidance from Paul’s Nursery gives each bush its best head start.

Production usually starts modest and climbs with every passing season. The first small crop is a good sign the plant has settled in. Pinching off a few early berries can help a very young bush put energy into growth. That short pause pays off in a stronger plant and bigger future harvests. Planting two varieties together often improves both yield and berry size. A row of healthy bushes can keep a family in fresh berries through the season. Patience in the first year or two turns into many years of picking. The trajectory rewards steady, simple care.

Central Florida blueberries ripen earlier than most people expect. The southern highbush harvest generally runs through spring, often April into May. That early window is one of the great perks of growing low-chill varieties here. Florida berries reach the table well ahead of crops in cooler northern states. The exact timing shifts a little by variety and by the weather each year. Early types start the season, and later types carry it on for weeks. A mild winter can nudge the harvest a touch earlier than usual. The team explains the timeline for your chosen varieties during the buying conversation.

The bloom comes first, usually in late winter as the weather warms. Soft pink and white flowers cover the bushes before the berries form. Green berries follow and slowly swell over the weeks that follow. The fruit then turns from green to a deep, dusty blue as it ripens. A ripe blueberry comes off the stem with the lightest touch. Picking every few days during the season keeps the best fruit coming. Berries left a day or two longer on the bush often taste sweetest. Homegrown berries beat store fruit precisely because you pick them at peak ripeness.

Stretching the harvest is easy with a little variety planning. Pairing an early type with a later one extends the picking window. That mix can keep fresh berries coming for several weeks each spring. Cooler spring weather also helps the fruit develop rich, full flavor. The bushes need steady water as the berries size up and ripen. A couple of deep waterings a week supports the fruit outside the rainy season. Photos on the online stock page show what is ripening and available now. A quick call or text helps you plan a planting that fits your harvest goals.

Blueberry bushes produce best with plenty of direct sunlight. Six to eight hours of sun a day brings the heaviest fruit set. More sun generally means more flowers and more berries on each bush. The sunniest spot in the yard is almost always the right choice. A location with light shade can still grow a healthy bush, just with a lighter crop. Mapping the sun pattern in your yard before planting helps you pick the strongest spot available. The team can help you find that location during the estimate visit. They work with what your yard offers to give each bush its best shot.

Surrounding trees and structures shape the sunlight a bush receives. Tall shade trees nearby can filter more sun than homeowners expect. Buildings, fences, and sheds also cast longer shadows at certain times of year. A spot that looks bright at noon may sit shaded through much of the morning. Walking the yard at a few different times of day reveals the real sun pattern. The crew brings a practiced eye to this during the estimate. Their experience speeds up the decision considerably. A few minutes of observation pays off for years of harvest.

Container growing gives you a way to chase the sun. A potted blueberry bush can move to follow the brightest part of the patio. That flexibility helps in yards where the open ground sits mostly in shade. The plants still want six to eight hours of light in a pot. Good sun also helps the berries develop their full sweetness. Shaded bushes tend to grow leggy and set fewer berries. Pairing strong sun with acidic soil is the recipe for a heavy crop. The team can help you plan the brightest setup for your space.

Acidic soil is the single most important growing condition for blueberries. The plants thrive in a low pH range, roughly four and a half to five and a half. That acidity lets the shallow roots take up the nutrients they need. Soil that sits too high in pH leaves a bush pale and slow to grow. Much of Central Florida’s sandy soil runs more neutral than blueberries prefer. The good news is that the pH is easy to manage with the right approach. Paul’s Nursery guides every customer on keeping the soil in the sweet spot. That advice is part of the buying conversation, not an afterthought.

An acid-forming fertilizer is the simplest way to keep the soil right. Blends made for blueberries or azaleas are formulated for exactly this purpose. Applied on a steady schedule, they feed the plant and hold the pH down. Skipping the schedule lets the soil drift back toward neutral over time. Yellowing leaves with green veins often signal the pH has climbed too high. Catching that early makes the fix simple and quick. The team can recommend a product and a schedule suited to local conditions. Following a real routine beats guessing or skipping seasons.

Drainage matters just as much as acidity for healthy blueberries. The roots sit shallow and fibrous, just below the surface of the soil. They want steady moisture but never want to sit in standing water. Sandy Central Florida ground drains well, which works in the plant’s favor. Consistent water in the first few weeks gets a new bush established. After that, a couple of deep waterings a week works well outside the rainy season. Balancing acidity, moisture, and drainage is the whole recipe for success. Paul’s Nursery shares this kind of practical detail with every customer who asks.

Blueberries take beautifully to container growing, which opens the door for almost any space. A patio, balcony, or small side yard can host a productive potted bush. Container growing also gives you full control over the soil. That control makes it easy to keep the acidity exactly where blueberries like it. A large pot with good drainage holes is the foundation of success. The roots dislike sitting in soggy soil, so drainage comes first. A potted bush still wants six to eight hours of sun each day. Paul’s Nursery can recommend a plant sized right for container life.

Watering a potted blueberry calls for a slightly closer eye than one in the ground. Containers dry out faster, especially through the hot Central Florida months. Consistent water in the first few weeks settles the plant into its new pot. After that, check the soil and water when the top inch begins to dry. The goal is steady moisture that never turns to mud at the bottom. An acid-forming fertilizer keeps a container bush fed, since pots hold few nutrients. Moving up to a larger pot every couple of years gives the roots fresh room. These simple habits keep a potted blueberry healthy and productive.

Containers also bring a real advantage during a rare cold snap. A potted bush can move to a sheltered spot when frost threatens. That mobility protects the plant on the few cold nights each winter brings. Grouping two pots of different varieties can improve the crop on both. The compact size keeps the berries within easy reach at picking time. A potted blueberry brings fresh fruit right to your doorstep. Photos on the online stock page show plants well suited to containers. A quick call or text helps you choose a bush sized for your space.

Blueberry bushes are compact, so they fit comfortably in most yards. A mature southern highbush bush generally stays a manageable height and width. Light, regular pruning keeps each plant tidy and easy to pick. A gap of a few feet between bushes gives each one room to fill out. That spacing also lets air move freely around the plants. Most homeowners are surprised by how little ground a productive bush needs. Even a small yard has room for a few blueberry plants. The team can help you map the right spot during the estimate visit.

A row of bushes makes an attractive and productive addition to a yard. Spacing them a few feet apart creates a tidy hedge of berries. The plants also work beautifully tucked into a raised bed. A raised bed makes it especially easy to control the acidic soil. Mixing two varieties in the same row often improves the overall crop. The arrangement keeps picking simple and the harvest within reach. Sunlight should reach all sides of each bush for even fruiting. The crew can plan a layout that fits your space and your goals.

Tight spaces are no obstacle for growing blueberries. Large containers let you grow productive bushes on a patio or balcony. A potted plant needs only a sunny corner and a well-draining pot. Grouping a couple of pots keeps the footprint small while boosting the crop. Smaller, more compact varieties suit container life especially well. The plants stay easy to move and easy to manage. Photos on the online stock page show plants for both beds and pots. A quick call or text helps you plan the right setup for your space.

Yes, Paul’s Nursery delivers and plants blueberry bushes throughout the Central Florida service area. Planting comes included with your order, so it is part of the deal rather than an add-on. The crew brings the plants, the equipment, and the hands-on experience to set them correctly. They handle every step, from preparing the soil to that first deep watering. Free estimates lay out pricing and scheduling before any work starts. The team confirms the spot, the timing, and any prep needs up front. Customers across Clermont, Winter Garden, The Villages, and nearby towns use this service regularly. The convenience alone makes it worthwhile for most homeowners.

The planting itself follows a careful, proven sequence. The crew checks the location and confirms the spot gets enough sun. The soil gets prepared so the acidity sits right for blueberries. Each bush goes in at the proper depth for its shallow root system. A thorough first watering settles the roots into their new home. The team then walks you through follow-up care before they leave. Most installs wrap up in a single visit. You end the day with healthy bushes already in the ground and ready to grow.

Scheduling depends on the season and how full the current order list is. Spring tends to fill up faster as more homeowners plan their gardens. Calling early helps you claim a delivery date that fits your week. The nursery works around the weather when it can, since heavy rain can affect a fresh planting. A short phone call keeps the whole process simple and direct. Paul’s Nursery handles each delivery with the same care the plants received on the property. The goal is a bush that thrives long after the truck pulls away. That outcome drives every step of the service.
